The Society was incorporated in Delaware on 12 July 2021. It holds Internet security projects that help everyone but fall outside normal commercial incentives. Its records are on ProPublica Nonprofit Explorer.

Projects

DNS Transparency Project

The Society's first project follows the model of Certificate Transparency: it aims to keep a record of each change to a DNS zone so that anyone can examine it. James helped to start the project and spoke about it at NANOG 77 and at DNS-OARC 31 in 2019, with Tim April, Barry Greene, Warren Kumari, and Matt Ploessel.

Hackers Helping Hackers Travel Fund

This program of the Society exists so that a lack of money does not stop hackers from coming together. The Fund is live and has money to give, and it welcomes more donations.
