WGTCP
A TCP transport patch for WireGuard's Linux module, so the tunnel works on networks that block UDP.
Who made it
Dragos Ruiu and Jeff Nathan wrote WGTCP. James Shank managed the project, and Acutis Ventures paid for the work.
What it does
WireGuard sends its packets over UDP, so the tunnel fails on networks that block UDP. WGTCP adds an opt-in TCP path under the WireGuard encryption layer. The keys, the Noise protocol, the peer identities, the AllowedIPs, the rekeying, and the authentication all stay the same.
Platforms
WGTCP is a patch for the Linux kernel WireGuard module. The authors tested it on x64 and ARM64, with IPv4 and IPv6, and they supply prebuilt binaries for Ubuntu 24.04.
